Lafayette Insurance LLC (“Lafayette Insurance,” “we,” “us” or “our”) is an independent insurance agency based in Lafayette, Indiana. Information you give us. When you fill out a contact or quote form, chat with us, sign up for emails, call or text us, we collect what you choose to share. This can include:

• Details needed to quote or service insurance, such as dates of birth, driver and vehicle information, property details, business information, current coverage and claims history
• The content of your messages, chats, calls and texts

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, our hosting provider and Google Analytics collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how you arrived at our site, and whether you clicked a call or quote link. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this.

Information from others. To quote and place coverage, we and the insurance companies we work with may obtain information from other sources, such as motor vehicle records, claims history databases and, where permitted by law, credit-based insurance scores.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to serve you:

• Insurance companies and their underwriting providers, to get quotes and place, service and renew your coverage
• Service providers who help us run our agency and website, such as our website host, online quote forms (Jotform and Consumer Rate Quotes), live chat (Tidio), Google Analytics, and our agency management, phone and email systems. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• Legal and regulatory reasons, such as responding to a subpoena, a request from an insurance regulator, or to protect our rights and prevent fraud
• Business transfers, if our agency is sold or merged, in which case your information would remain protected by this policy

Text messages (SMS)

If you give us your mobile number and agree to receive text messages, we may text you about your quote, appointments, renewals, billing, policy service and claims, and to answer your questions. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time or HELP for help. Agreeing to receive texts is not a condition of buying any product or service.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. All of the sharing described in this policy excludes text messaging originator opt-in data and consent.

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our website. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Our website does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

• Texts: reply STOP to any text message to opt out.
• Access, correction or deletion: contact us to ask what information we have about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it. We will respond as required by applicable law. Some information must be kept to meet insurance record-keeping rules.

Children

Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them through our website.

Links to other websites

Our website links to insurance company websites, social media pages and third-party quote forms. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when it was last changed.
